COI Compass
A new project starts with the company insurance requirements. - 2
2.Set the insurance rules
Review the coverage, limits, wording, evidence, and notes. You can also require a minimum number of days before expiry or require coverage through the project end date.
- 3
3.Save later changes
Open the project from the Projects list and click "Edit". Changing requirements or the project end date rechecks the latest COI for assigned subcontractors.
COI Compass
Saved project rules take priority for assigned subcontractors. - 4
4.Assign a subcontractor
Open the add subcontractor form. Choose the project in the "Project" field, then save. Choose "No project (company defaults)" to create the subcontractor without a project assignment. Editing contact details later does not change existing project assignments. While any saved project requirements are active, the subcontractor override is disabled and each assigned project's saved rules are shown.

5.Archive or restore the project
Open the project and click "Archive project" when the job no longer needs to apply its rules. Assigned subcontractors are checked again without that project. Click "Show archived" on the Projects page, open the project, and click "Restore project" to apply its rules again.
Common questions
Which requirements win?
All saved requirements from assigned projects are checked first. If no assigned project has saved rules, COI Compass uses the subcontractor override, then the company defaults.
Who can change project requirements?
Only an organization owner can create, edit, archive, or restore projects.
